Address themes of importance to all social scientists

As well as publishing across all disciplines within the social sciences, Palgrave also publishes work on bigger picture issues facing social science scholars from books on ‘impact’ and the current emphasis on university rankings to the role of women in university management and future of the academic profession itself. We also publish books on teaching and academic writing and thinking.

A good example is Rankings and the Reshaping of Higher Education, which the LSE Impact blog called 'an important contribution'. A runaway success when first published, the author Ellen Hazelkorn went on to write many articles on the back of the book's findings, for example in the Chronicle of Higher Education and other high profile journals.
